Music Can often Replace Medication

A relative of mine is really hooked on Prozac. She recently had car trouble and almost went out of her mind trying to figure out how to get into town to refill her supply of pills. Finally, a stepson came to her rescue, but that kind of thing can't be good, can it?

I can't say I blame anyone for being depressed when they look at what is happening in our government and in the whole world, these days, but before you reach for the medicine bottle, why not try a little music?

I love Gospel music and just putting in a CD of Cristy Lane singing, One Day at a Time, or Elvis singing, Precious Lord, Take My Hand, can lift my spirits for hours on end.

My husband says the CD's are just as addictive as Prozac or Valium would be, because I play them over and over until I am hypnotized by them. Maybe he's right, but this kind of self-hypnosis seems a lot more healthy to me than an addiction to pills. It's also a lot better for my health and pocketbook.

You may not like Elvis or Cristy Lane, but look around out there and see if you can't find something you do like and try a little of that self-hypnosis for yourself. I can almost guarantee that it will help.
