Would it really be so horrible to allow the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older brother implicated in the bombing at the Boston Marathon last week, to be buried in a cemetery somewhere in our great country?
Yes, he was a mass murderer; yes, his actions showed that he had no respect for Americans; and, yes, he made a mockery of the very freedoms he took advantage of while he lived here, but the man is dead. No one is asking that we provide a fancy funeral for him. Just a plot in some cemetery--any cemetery--so we can get on with our lives.
Since no one seems to like that idea, why not set up an account and let those who want to see this discussion end, donate a dollar or two to help ship his body home to his mother. She has expressed a desire to have it, and shipping him out of the country, as soon as possible, would end the controversy that only seems to be getting worse as time goes on. If more than a bare minimum was raised to cover the shipment, any extra money could be donated to the fund to help his victims, some who still remain hospitalized.
I suggested such a fund to former Governor Mike Huckabee, who is in a position to handle it nationwide, and a trustworthy person to be in charge as far as I can see. If he takes me up on the suggestion, I will be among the first to send in my donation for the cause.
