Going to a College Football Game

Since I am a Duck fan who lives just a couple of miles from the home stadium of the currently "sizzling" Oregon Ducks' football team, you'd think I would be sitting in the stands at Autzen Stadium cheering them on at every game. Unfortunately, I'm getting a little old to sit through hours of sometimes cold and drizzly weather, but I do have a second choice mentioned here by Franklin Davenport, today's guest poster.

Going to watch the Oregon Ducks is one of the most exciting, exhilarating activities for my family and me. On a wonderful fall Oregon afternoon, opening up the tailgate and service hotdogs, hamburgers, chili, cold beer and soda and other yummy snacks with friends and strangers alike is one of the most invigorating things to take part in. Fan abound, wearing their traditional green and white jerseys, face paint, and the quacking abounds as we all wait to get into the stadium and cheer on our favorite college football team.

Watching running back LaMichael James rush for 227 yards, an all-time career high was so exciting. The fans jumped to their feet as roars of excitement and cheering echoed through the Eugene stadium. Players rushed James in a congratulatory embrace; cheerleaders flung their pom poms into the air and kicked in celebration, while the other team hung their heads on the sidelines, trying to overcome such an eruption of festivity.

Watching Brandon Bair, Anthony Blake, Zac Clark, Michael Clay, Max Forer, Brandon Hanna and all the rest of the players huddle up, form a game plan, and rush onto the field is a family experience for us. The smells of the field; fresh air, cooking hotdogs, peanuts, beer and the fans, coming together to support and cheer the Oregon Ducks makes for a fantastic day. The only thing that comes close to comparison is being able to gather the family together at home and watch the Oregon Ducks on our satellite TV from http://www.expertsatellite.com/
