A Kid's First Book About Bats

Bats are really interesting. Unfortunately many people have been taught to fear them.

A great book for kids that is filled with pictures of lots of different bats and all kinds of bat facts is, Zipping, Zapping, Zooming Bats, by Ann Earle. It is very scientific but written in a vocabulary to appeal especially to children from three through elementary school levels, but adults will enjoy it, too.

In addition to explaining the usefulness of bats for keeping insects under control, and describing a number of different types of bats, there are also plans for making your own bat house at the end of the book. The plans alone are worth the cost.

A great addition to any child's library.
