I'll admit it. I practically live in jeans and t-shirts these days, but every once in a while I see a dress that makes me think of the good old days when most women wouldn't think of leaving home in the attire most of us consider acceptable today.
I seldom go out of my way to seek out articles on royalty, but it was kind of hard to miss William and Kate presenting their new baby to the world a few days ago. I'll confess that it was Kate's dress, not the baby that really caught my eye. Polka dots! I hadn't seen a polka dotted dress since I was a little girl, and how I loved them way back then. And Kate's dress was such a simple cut, too. I had to agree with the reporters who covered the event, when they said she looked absolutely stunning.
Imagine my surprise a few days later when I opened one of those endless catalogs that seem to make their way into my mailbox on a regular basis, to see a similar dress. Maybe not styled quite so youngish looking as Kate's dress, but definitely polka dotted, simple, and available in red, blue and purple. Take a look and see if you don't agree with me that it is gorgeous.
And, best of all, unlike Kate's dress which probably cost hundreds of dollars, this one is on sale for a measly $17.99 for petite and regular sizes or $20.99 for larger sizes. Made of polyester and washable, it should be really easy to care for.
When I walk into church in my new blue, polka dotted dress, I wouldn't be surprised to have someone come up and say, "Hello, are you new here?"
*If you want one, too, click on the picture to order one for yourself, but leave a blue one for me.
