The last week has been spent recovering from surgery. The only good thing to come from it was a loss of about 10 pounds without really trying, but I definitely don't advise anyone choosing the diet that I was on. Not that I couldn't afford to lose the weight. Actually, I could lose another 10 pounds or more and never miss them, but I'm thinking more along the line of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers.
No matter what method a person chooses to lose weight, a buddy to do it with you is more likely to cause you to stick with the program and I DO highly recommend that.
What better time than right now to start dropping a few pounds before the harsh reality of summer heat forces us to reveal those extra pounds we have been packing on all winter while hiding them beneath a heavy winter coat.

If It's Good Enough For Elvis....
Years ago, I read that Elvis Presley often chewed on parsley to keep his breath smelling clean. Maybe that's why restaurants often serve meals with a sprig of parsley.
I have noticed, most of the time, that people tend to leave the parsley untouched on their plates. I wonder what they do with all the parsley that goes back to the kitchen each day? If no one ever eats it, why do they keep on serving it?
That goes for carrots and broccoli, too. It's my guess that people who want carrots and broccoli will order them, so why waste 98 percent of the carrots and broccoli served on people who don't want it and won't eat it anyway? Is there some kind of government rule that you have to serve something "healthy" on every plate?
