Belknap Hot Springs and Croc-Like Shoes, a Perfect Match

For years, my husband and I have visited Belknap Hot Springs, a wonderful resort only an hour's drive from our home in Western Oregon.

Although there is a lodge and a number of cabins available with views of  the noted McKenzie River, we choose to take our 5th wheel,  and be a little more isolated from the crowds, especially when we go after school is out for  the summer. We can still see  the river from our usual campsite though.

Belknap Resort offers two large swimming pools with hot mineral spring water that really pamper my old bones.  We usually park near the upper pool, and then walk down to the resort, or take a longer hike across the river on one of  the many trails that are planted with a variety of beautiful flowers.

Every time we go, I tell my husband that before I go again, I am going to buy myself a pair of Crocs----those Clog type shoes that look like they are made of rubber, but I think they are really plastic.  Anyway, I want to use them for walking back to the RV after we swim so I can wait to change from my bathing suit to my regular clothes in privacy.  When I wear regular shoes or slippers, water drips down and makes the shoes damp and uninviting the next time we head for the pool.  (I hate regular flip-flops.)

Anyway, every time I saw a pair of Crocs, they were about $50 so I talked myself out of them.  Last week I finally saw a pair of Clogs that looked even better at Ameri-Mark for a reasonable price. ($9.99 if you buy two pairs.) They even have places for water to drain out, free shipping if you buy 2 pairs, and come in a variety of colors. (Even purple, hot pink, and aqua.) Just click on the photo to see.
Anyway, I just reserved our space for three days in the first part of June.  I hope my clogs arrive in time.

P.S.  Today is May 19th.  My clogs arrived yesterday and I think they are going to be perfect for the purpose they are intended for.  After I try them during the June trip to the hot springs, I may even order a second pair in Turquoise color---I'm not sure I'll ever be brave enough for the hot pink.

Today is June 15. I used the clogs to walk to and from the swimming pool at Belknap. They worked just like I had hoped. After swimming and getting dressed, I switched to my walking shoes, dried the clogs with my towel before putting them into my beach bag, and headed back to the trailer. Very satisfied with this purchase, although I wouldn't recommend them for long hikes.
