Spend Time With the Family at Fall Festivals

My guest poster for today, Maxine Taylor, likes the same thing my family likes---fall festivals. We seem to have more during the fall season than at any other time, and even though it often rains at this time in Oregon, we go anyway, with an umbrella clutched under our arms, just in case.

Thanks for the article from Maxine Taylor

Every October, my family and I like to go to the local fall festival. We spend hours walking around the various booths and there is always a great entertainment lineup. Various food vendors pollute the air with the most amazing smells so we always plan to eat at the festival. It's a great way to spend time with the family and support the local community at the same time.

There are always tons of crafts for sale at the festival, and many people in the community make jars and jars of jams, jellies, salsas, and other delicious foods. Many of these individuals grow their own food in home-tended gardens, and we all have our favorites that we look forward to each year. I like the hot sauce while my husband goes for the strawberry preserves.

The kids always have plenty to do at the festival and look forward to it each year. There are plenty of games for them to play, a pumpkin painting contest, and a costume contest. They have a lot of fun visiting the various booths, and they get to trick or treat at the festival as well. Adults and children alike bob for apples and run sack races. It really is a great time for families as well as for the community.

Of course, when we're not at the festival, much of our family time is spent watching satellite TV from www.bestchoicetv.com/deals.html. We pop popcorn and watch our favorite shows together at least twice a week.
